Renewal Process for Myanmar Laos Vietnam and Cambodia Nationals
What are the required procedures?
1. Work Permit Renewal
MOU workers must renew their Work Permit before the current one expires.
The employer must:
- Confirm continued employment
- Submit corporate documents
- Pay the required fees
If allowed to expire, the entire process may need to be restarted.
2. Visa / Stay Permit Extension
After renewing the work permit, extend the stay permit at Immigration. Validity is typically 1–2 years, depending on the worker category.
3. Medical Examination
Migrant workers must undergo a medical check-up at state-certified hospitals for prohibited diseases. The medical certificate is valid for 30 days and a new one is required for each renewal.
4. Social Security Registration
Employers must register workers with Social Security and pay monthly contributions. Failure to comply may prevent renewal.

Used to verify current and continuous status. If lost, a police report is required before proceeding.

📌 Medical Certificate
Must be issued by state-authorized hospitals to certify the absence of prohibited diseases.
Processing Timeline
- Document preparation: 3–7 days
- Work permit renewal: 3–7 business days
- Visa extension: 1 day (with complete documentation)
The process should be initiated at least 30 days prior to expiry.
